Mahabocw Scholarship: What Is It And Who Can Apply?

 

Mahabocw Scholarship



The Mahabocw Scholarship is the largest scholarship programme of the University of Guyana. It was established in 2009 by the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ministry of Social Development.

The scholarship is given to those students who have a GPA of 2.5 and above. It is available to students from all faculties. The scholarship is given to students who are pursuing studies in the following areas:

• Law

• Accounting and Finance

• Economics and Business Studies

• Architecture

• Engineering

• Agriculture and Natural Resources

• Physical Education and Sports Science

• Medicine

• Dentistry

• Social Sciences

• Computer and Information Technology

• Humanities

• Education

• Social Work

• Library and Information Science

• Languages and Literatures

• Musicnt

• Architecture and Planningh

• German

• Chinese

• Japanese

• Arabic

The scholarship covers the tuition fees for all undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Applicants must be residents of Guyana. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 and above.

The scholarship is open to all students and is awarded annually.

The application deadline for the 2017/2018 academic year is December 31, 2016.

The scholarship is given to the students who are the best in their respective fields. The scholarship has three categories:

1) General Scholarship

2) Academic Excellence Scholarship

3) Best Student Award

Best Student Award

The award is given to the student with the highest academic performance. The award is given to the students who have the best academic record.

The general category is open to all students. The candidates can apply for the scholarship.

The academic excellence category is open to all students. The students can apply for the scholarship.

The best student category is open to students from the following disciplines:
